Conditions of Entry
Age Limit - Born 2002 or later
Handicap Limit - Boys 2.4
- Girls 5.4
CDH ******* - Players with CDH numbers must use this as their method of entry
NOTE:
If you have a CDH no., but don't use it for entry then your handicap will not be automatically updated with the results of the tournament and you will have to ask your handicap secretary to update your handicap using the tournaments results.
For players that have a CDH no., the ballot will be conducted using the handicap held, at the time of the ballot, on the CDH database. All players are advised to make sure that their club updates the CDH immediately after competitions are finalised.
Overseas Players - Overseas players may be asked for proof of handicap
(No CDH no.) If your handicap is better than scratch, please enter it as a minus number
i.e. if your h/cap is "plus 1", please enter it as "-1".
Policies - By entering the tournament, a player accepts the Committee’s policies regarding medical, photography and data privacy
Process
Entry - Entry must be made by means of the online entry system
Payment - Either by credit/debit card or using a PayPal account.
NOTE – If payment is not made at time of entry, an email will be sent with a link to the payment system. This email may take up to 24 hrs to be sent.
Closing date - The closing date for entries will be Monday 18th May 2020 @ 23:59 hrs.
Ballot - A draw (ballot) will be conducted by Friday 22nd May 2020 to select 156 entrants. (126 boys, 30 girls). In addition, reserves will be selected.
For players that have a CDH no., the ballot will be conducted using the handicap held, at the time of the ballot, on the CDH database. All players are advised to make sure that their club updates the CDH immediately after competitions are finalised to ensure their handicap, held by CDH, is correct at time of ballot.
Notification - A table of entrants will be published on the website and will be updated periodically. Following the ballot, all entrants will be notified by email as to whether they have been successful in the ballot.
Start Times - Provisional start times (for Friday and Saturday) will be published on the website within a week of the ballot being conducted. These will be finalised on Monday 15th June 2020.
Exams etc - The Committee will accept requests from players for specific start times so as to accommodate examinations and other genuine circumstances. Players are asked to submit their requests to keith@thehenrycooper.net as soon as possible so as to stand the best chance of the request being accommodated.
Refunds/Withdrawals - Entrants NOT selected to play will have their entry fee refunded. (Refunds for reserves will be made post-tournament). Should an entrant withdraw before the closing date a full refund will be given. Should an entrant withdraw after the closing date, a refund will only be given if their place can be filled by a reserve.
Committee’s rights - The Championship Committee reserves the right to allow the entry of a few entrants, that would otherwise fall outside the ballot, where they are nominated by main sponsors or are needed to make up an international team – such international entrants must meet the handicap limit criteria. All entries shall be subject to the approval of the Championship Committee which reserves the right to accept or refuse any entry without giving reasons for its decision, which shall be final. The Championship Committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor making a false or incorrect statement on their entry form.
The Competition
Practice Round - Players will be sent a voucher for a courtesy practice round after the ballot. Players can book practice rounds up to one week in advance, subject to availability and the payment of a green fee or use of the courtesy round, either by telephoning Nizels reception on +44 (0)1732 833 833, or booking online at www.nizelsgolfclub.com (green fee only). In addition a practice session will be held on Thursday 20th June 2019. Players will be notified of details.
Competition - The Championship shall be a 72 hole stroke play competition, played over 3 days (Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June 2020). There will be a separate competition for boys and girls. After 36 holes, the leading 40 boys and ties, together with the leading 10 girls and ties, shall play a further 36 holes on Sunday 21st June. The winners shall be the boy and girl who return the lowest gross score over 72 holes. In the event of a tie there will be a ‘sudden death’ play-off over the 18th hole, until a winner is established.
National Teams, consisting of 3 players (boys, girls or mixed) may be entered into the Nations Trophy which will be played for over the first 36 holes and will be decided using the best 2 scores from each round.
There is a competition for the best U-16 boy. Note: The age criterion is based on the date of the championship (not 1st Jan) and entrants are only allowed to win one prize, with the greater to be awarded.
Caddies - Caddies are permitted but must meet the same age limit as players.
